CN Meeting 1-12-2010

The CN meeting held on January 12, 2010 was the first meeting of the new year. As such some business items that need to be taken care of included trying to get a revised set of Bylaws approved for nursing student body vote asap. Fady, the new CN VP, is working on the revisions and a vote among class reps and officers will take place and the next meeting. Please continue to read on for other items mentioned in the meeting

Josynthia presented the Treasurer report with all Fall 2009 quarter adjustments. Though an annual report wasn't formerly presented, CN ended 2009 with approximately $1,000 less than a year prior.

Fundraising efforts for the Winter 2010 quarter included Rubios on the 24th of January. Flyers can be found on the CN Blog, Bb, and in the nursing office soon. Also, Josynthia will be coordinating a supply drive for a program called Direct Relief. A blog post will be posted soon with more details. Other future fundraising activities proposed include Cal Skate and Tiki Hut.

The first pinning meeting for the Winter 2010 graduating class will be held January 19 at noon in the nursing conference room. Graduates and volunteers are encouraged to attend to help get ready for the upcoming pinning ceremony on March 27, 2010.

Department faculty are working on a program that will help to enhance student learning abilities. The goal is to increase student achievement and overall success in the nursing program. Those who are interested should talk with their current lecture instructor.

The next CN meeting will be held on January 26, 2010 at 6:30 pm. Location will be determined based on attendance. Please meet first at the nursing conference room.
